Who is Adept’s training for? Adept’s training is designed for residents and professionals alike who work in and with the voluntary and community sector. It can help people develop their own skills so that they can become more effective community-based professionals, or more active members of their community. Adept’s training can help to improve personal skills to assist in voluntary work or in seeking employment. Whether you are working voluntarily for your own community or working on a paid basis in a community organisation, there are skills and knowledge that can help you perform better. At the community level, this might mean learning more about being a trustee, chairing groups or meetings, communicating with other organisations, working in partnerships, managing projects, holding events, managing money, registering as a charity or company, and more. At the professional level, it links to the government’s concern at the relative scarcity of “regeneration skills”, either in practitioners or in those managing them and creating the strategies. There are no requirements for attending Adept’s training, although participants should have basic literacy and numeracy skills and an interest in helping empower communities. ADEPT Training offers services to local partnerships, local authorities, voluntary organisations, community development agencies, community groups, community empowerment networks, and individuals. |
